Road to Matera

Road to Matera Gravel Bike Tour

This beautiful, relatively unknown corner of Italy, with historical links to Greece (just across the Adriatic from Puglia), possesses unexpected delights such as the Baroque splendor of Lecce, the dazzling mosaics of the Otranto Cathedral, the ancient Trulli, and the dwellings of Matera. This land nested within two seas still preserves roads and paths that were first traced by the Romans. Our routes take full advantage of roads surrounded by nature and filled with the unique colors of the Mediterranean Sea.

The food is another of the outstanding features of the Puglia experience. The flavors of this ancient land and the traditions are unforgivable and a new generation of local chefs will excite you with the modern twist they give to the great classics of the tradition or with the original use of the local ingredients. Also, the wines of Puglia recently switched from the tradition to a new wave of small refined producers that we will introduce to your taste buds.
