Today we leave the Chianti vineyards area to ride the Southern loop of the Eroica.
The route is mostly on gravel roads across the Crete Senesi. We ride through the nicest village of Tuscany, Lucignano (IMHO) and we climb Sante Marie Hills the ascent dedicated to Fabian Cancellara, and where the “Strade Bianche” races are often decided.
When darkness is coming: Ristorante l’Asinello – Castelnuovo Berardenga.
At dinner we are in Castelnuovo Berardenga, home of one of the best Chianti Classico crus, drinking quality is guaranteed. We are hosted in a Michelin-starred restaurant with delicious regional cuisine, this is the best place to taste the Tuscan cuisine of game, wild boar, pigeon, pheasant, and deer, a dinner for enthusiasts.
Signature dishes: Beef oxtail and black cabbage Steamed sandwich — Deer fillet, currant, sweet green pepper, and mustard.
