Dolomites Bike Tour: Day 2
The Marmolada glacier and Fedaia Pass
We begin with a legendary pass, the hardest pass in the Dolomites: Fedaia. Part of the climb will be in the amazing Serrai Sottoguda Canyon and the climb ends in front of Marmolada Glacier. These wonders will help you overcome the effort of the climb. The lunch is waiting for you at the end of the climb at the alpine refuge. If you have some more energy left to spend you can keep going and climb also the Pordoi Pass.
SUMMARY OF DAY FATIGUES:
Fedaia Pass (2057 m.a.s.l.) was part of the Giro d’Italia 14 times, first time in 1975 à # 2 climb of the Giro d’Italia. DONE!
Pordoi Pass south side (2239 m.a.s.l.) was part of the Giro d’Italia 35 times, first time in 1940 à # 3 climb of the Giro d’Italia. DONE!
The diner will be in a mountain hut a 2000 m.a.s.l., outstanding Ladin regional food and the very remarkable wine celar (Michelin awarded restaurant).
Signature dishes: Pressed cheese Canederli with cabbage salad – Loin of venison, porcini mushrooms powder, fresh porcini mushrooms and confit tomatoes.
