Plan de Corones: the last 3 Miles
Plan the Corones has become a great classic for Cyclists from all over the world. In the last ten years, it has become the most famous arrival of the Giro d’Italia.
Fourteen miles on the tarmac and then the last three miles on a dirt road, last three miles that will come back to your mind for a while.
Fast descent to San Vigilio, lunch, and whoever wants can return to the van by bicycle.
SUMMARY OF DAY FATIGUES:
Plan de Corones (2275 m.a.s.l.) was part of the Giro d’Italia 3 times, first time in 2006 à # 13 climb of the Giro d’Italia. DONE!
In the evening, a small welcoming «stube», a classy local cuisine, we are in the most refined restaurant of the valley, a Michelin star experience.
Signature dishes: Veal tripe cooked in lobster stock, au gratin with free-range chicken egg and lobster– Grilled Sprinzer beef, Sichuan pepper, Lagrein sauce, potato gratin, and wild mountain herbs.
