Tuscany Day 2

Volterra and Siena: Day 2

From Tower to Tower

Daily Agenda

Route of the Towered Cities, Volterra, San Gimignano, Colle Val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni and arrival in Siena in Piazza del Campo. The crossing of the cradle of the Etruscan civilization (600 BC) which came to us after the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Mixed roads that follow the ancient Via Francigena, the road that Catholic pilgrims traveled in the Middle Ages to go to Rome.
A whole day from one village to another with arrival in Piazza del Campo in Siena, with the deadly final climb of the iconic pro-race Strade Bianche 1

When darkness is coming: Boccon DiVino – Montalcino

It is “THE” trattoria in Montalcino, since 1992. A gem set in a postcard view, where you can enjoy tried and tested recipes that never betray their territorial roots. In the kitchen, the next generation with Alessandra brought fresh air and it was love at once.
We are in Montalcino, the homeland of Brunello, this is the place where we come to drink the niche products of the very small producers (there are always many).

Signature dishes: Potato gnocchi with pecorino cheese and Tuscan truffle – Sliced meat (Tagliata) from Maremma breed with wild plums
